A lie, that’s all your eyes can see, and your beautiful mind called it lack. A sophisticated, ancient, deeply personal, but a lie nonetheless.
The circumstances, the facts, the honest assessment of your situation that it pretends to be every morning when you check your account, scan your life, and quietly conclude that you don’t have enough.
The Lie Doesn’t Announce Itself
It doesn’t arrive with a disclaimer. It doesn’t say “good morning, here is today’s installment of carefully curated false evidence designed to keep you small.”
It arrives dressed as reality.
It sounds like: this is just how things are for people like me. It sounds like: I’ve tried everything and nothing works. It sounds like the reasonable, responsible, grounded voice of someone who has simply learned from experience.
But here is what experience never told you: your perception of lack is not a neutral observation. It is an active broadcast.
Every time you say “I can’t afford it,” you are not describing your financial situation. You are instructing your subconscious to create more of it.
Every time you ask, “Why is nothing ever working for me?” you are not seeking an answer. You are deepening a groove.
Every time you scan your life and catalogue what’s missing, you are not being realistic. You are radiating the exact frequency that guarantees more of what you’re afraid of.
Where the Lie Was Born
Nobody chooses a lack of consciousness. It is installed.
In the childhood home, where money was always “tight” and wanting more felt greedy.
In the religion that taught suffering as virtue and desire as sin.
In a culture that decided some people are simply not built for abundance — and handed you a mirror that agreed.
You absorbed it before you had the language to question it. And then, because the human mind is a faithful servant with no moral filter, you built an entire life around confirming it.
Missed opportunities that somehow always arrived for everyone else. Money that came in and disappeared before you could hold it. Dreams that felt vivid at midnight and embarrassing by morning.
This is not bad luck. This is not the economy. This is not your circumstances conspiring against you.
This is a belief system doing exactly what belief systems do: creating the reality it expects.
The Truth the Lie Has Been Hiding
Abundance is not something you earn when you finally get it right.
It is the default state of a universe that contains more stars than grains of sand on every beach on earth — a universe that has never once run out of anything. The only place scarcity exists as a permanent condition is in a mind that decided it was true and stopped questioning its choice.
Here is what changes everything:
1. Catch the broadcast. The moment you hear “I can’t afford it,” stop. Replace it with “how can I create this?” You are not lying. You are redirecting the most powerful creative instrument ever assembled, your focused mind, toward solutions instead of confirmations.
2. Find one proof of abundance today. Not tomorrow, today. The meal you ate. The air that filled your lungs without a bill. The idea arrived uninvited and completely free.
Gratitude is not passive positivity; it is an active rewiring of what your mind scans for. What you appreciate, appreciates.
3. Act from the truth, not the lie. Your future self, the abundant, free, fully expressed version of you, is not waiting for circumstances to change. She is making decisions right now that your current self is too afraid to make. Make one of them today. One. The price you charge. The boundary you set. The dream you stop apologizing for.
Lack Is a Lie. But You Have to Choose the Truth.
The truth doesn’t force itself on you. It waits — patiently, completely, with infinite resources — for the moment you decide it is more real than the story you inherited.
That moment doesn’t require perfect conditions. It doesn’t require a sign, a savings account, or someone’s permission.
It requires a decision ‘’Made in now’’. Held firmly, acted on it immediately.
You were not born into lack. You were born into a universe of staggering, almost incomprehensible abundance — and somewhere along the way, someone convinced you that it wasn’t meant for you.
The world is not empty. It’s saturated, with capital, with access, with rooms waiting to be entered.
But if your identity feels small, even open doors look intimidating
The question is no longer whether abundance is available. It always has been. The question is: when will you stop believing the lie that says it isn’t meant for you?
That answer lives inside The Unseen Resistance to Wealth — where Brooke Davis spent 9 years finding it, so you don’t have to.
