What You Don’t Change, You Are Choosing. You Choose to Be Powerless

Every day you don't change is a day you're choosing to stay the same. Stop pretending you're powerless. You're choosing this—but you can choose differently. This post is a confrontation and an invitation. It strips away denial while returning power. You'll either act or consciously admit you're choosing inaction. Either way, the autopilot is broken

What You Don’t Change, You Are Choosing

"The way we do one thing is the way we do everything."

You know what you need to change.

I am not here to judge; I have been there myself and am still battling with it sometimes. But I need you to be aware of this and get you to say:

“I choose not to change this.”

The job that’s draining you. The relationship that stopped working years ago. The body you keep saying you’ll take care of “soon.” The business you’ll start “when the time is right.” The boundaries you’ll set “eventually.”

You’ve been thinking about it, planning it, talking about it. But you haven’t changed it. And here’s the part you don’t want to hear: That’s a choice.

Stop Pretending You’re Not Choosing

Every day you stay, you’re choosing to stay.

Every excuse you make, you’re choosing the excuse over the change.

Every “not yet,” every “I can’t right now,” every “it’s complicated” — those are choices.

You’re not a victim of your circumstances. You’re an active participant in maintaining them.

Let me show you what I mean:

“I don’t have time” = You’re choosing other things over this

“I can’t afford it” = You’re choosing not to find a way

“I’m not ready yet” = You’re choosing comfort over growth

“They won’t understand” = You’re choosing their approval over your freedom

“It’s too risky” = You’re choosing certainty over possibility

“Maybe next year” = You’re choosing to delay indefinitely

See what’s happening?

You’ve been using language that makes you sound powerless. But you’re not powerless.

You’re choosing actively, deliberately, every single day.

What You’re Actually Choosing

Let’s be brutally honest about what your inaction is choosing:

You’re not staying in that job because you need the money. You’re choosing fear of the unknown over the possibility of something better.

You’re not staying in that relationship “for the kids.” You’re choosing their temporary comfort over showing them what real love looks like.

You’re not waiting to start the business because you lack resources. You’re choosing the certainty of regret over the uncertainty of trying.

You’re not delaying the conversation because the timing isn’t right. You’re choosing resentment over resolution.

Strip away the noble-sounding reasons and see what you’re actually choosing:

Safety over aliveness. Comfort over growth—the familiar hell over the unknown possibility.

And that’s fine — if that’s what you actually want.

But stop pretending you want something different while actively choosing everything that keeps you the same.

The Question You’re Avoiding

How long have you been saying “not yet”?

Six months? Two years? Five years?

At what point does “I’m working on it” become “I’m avoiding it”?

You know you’re not going to do it next year either. The same fears will be there. The same excuses will sound just as reasonable. The same “complications” will arise.

Because you’re not waiting for the right time, you’re waiting for it to feel easy.

And it never will.

The Cost You’re Not Counting

Every day you don’t change is:

  • Another day of the same result, you say you don’t want

  • Another day teaching your nervous system that staying stuck is acceptable.

  • Another day watching others do what you’re too afraid to attempt.

  • Another day you’ll never get back.

Five years from now, you’ll wish you started today.

You know this. You’ve felt this before — that ache of wishing you’d acted sooner.

And yet here you are, choosing delay again.

The Power You’re Not Using

Here’s the shift:

If you’re choosing this, you can choose differently.

The same agency you’re using to stay stuck? That’s the same power you can use to change.

You’re not weak. You’re not broken. You’re just directing your power toward maintenance instead of transformation.

You are tired of pretending.

Pretending you’re “building.”
Pretending you’re “waiting for the right time.”
Pretending you’re “being realistic.”

You are exhausted from negotiating with your own potential.

Get your eBook here to liberate yourself from mental assumptions and the miserable life built by your loved one for you, with good intentions. Be intentional in choosing today.

Make the Choice Conscious

Right now. Say it out loud:

“I am choosing to stay in this job.” “I am choosing to stay at this weight.” “I am choosing this relationship dynamic.” “I am choosing to delay my dreams.”

Not “it’s happening to me.” Not “I’m trying.” Not “someday.”

You are CHOOSING this.

Feel how different that is? How does that land in your body?

Now ask yourself: Do you still want to choose this?

Two Futures

Future 1: You keep choosing this

One year from now, you’re reading another article like this, having the same internal conversation, making the same promises to yourself. Five years from now, the regret is heavier. Ten years from now, it’s unbearable.

Future 2: You choose differently today

Uncomfortable for a month. Unrecognizable in six months. A year from now, you can’t believe you almost didn’t do this.

Which future are you choosing right now?

There’s no neutral. There’s no “I’m just thinking about it.”

Every moment you’re not changing, you’re choosing to stay the same.

The Truth

You have more power than you’re using. You have more choices than you’re admitting. You have more time than you think — but less than you’re pretending.

The change you’re avoiding? It’s not going to get easier.

It’s not going to feel more comfortable.

The perfect time isn’t coming.

But your power to choose? It’s here. Right now.

So choose the change. This eBook is about clarity and pattern recognition.

But for the love of everything, stop pretending you’re not choosing.

You’re choosing at every moment.

The question is: What are you choosing? And do you want to keep choosing it?
